Barbara and David were married in June of 1957. When our children came along we found that we could not find good quality clothing for them at the price we could afford. I started sewing all their clothing for them, that way I could get them designer type clothing on a small budget. Soon I had our children’s friends’ parents asking for me to sew clothing for their children. I wanted the highest quality of clothing for the best possible price. That is how our first business came about.
In 1980 my husband had to retire from his full time job and we moved from Saskatoon Sask to Langley B.C. I always dreamed of having a little business of our own and now that he was not working he could help me with this. In 1985 the dream of a small business became a reality. We became involved in many local craft fairs which were usually held from October to mid December. My children’s clothing, blankets and stuffed toys became much in demand. Selling our beautiful handmade baby quilts, clothing and stuffed toys made out of baby soft fabrics was the business we had always wanted.
In 2003 my husband needed a hip replacement and needed a lot of care so the craft business was put on hold for a couple of years. In 2007 he was called home leaving me to close out the business and try to put my life back together after 50 years of marriage.
That is when I decided to try to open an online business. I found some really good manufactures that would ship directly to my customers. That is how my site BabyNeedsEverything.com came into being.
